How to get a new Apple Watch and iPhone 6S or 6S Plus

Apple said Wednesday it’s extending its partnership with a company that makes smartwatches to allow its new devices to work with those devices.

The company is extending its licensing agreement with San Francisco-based startup XDA-Developers to allow Apple to make its own smartwands for new iPhones, Apple Watch Series 4, iPhone 6s and 6S models, Apple TV, Apple Watches, Apple Pay and Apple PayWave devices, according to the Apple-owned developer.

“Apple Watch Series 3 and 4 are now fully compatible with Apple Watch,” the Apple statement said.

“We’ve been working closely with XDA developers to make these products compatible with the new Apple Watched product line.

This is a significant milestone for Apple Watch, and we are thrilled to be able to make them available to the iPhone community at large.”

Apple Watch’s next-generation smartwand won’t be available until early fall, with the release date for the first batch of products set for late August, Apple said.
